Screen Black and have to shutdown. Macbookpro 15in i7 with NVDIA GT330M. Is there any way to get this fixed without paying $1000 dollars?

My macbookpro 15in, i7, 2.66ghz, with integrated graphics + NVIDIA GT330M purchased summer 2010 always has the problem of the screen going black and me having to restart the computer to fix it. This has been going on for over 2 years now, so there was only a small period of time when I didn't notice the issue.. I currently run snow leopard but it happened under previous OSX's as well.

The keyboard backlgiht will be on, the machine will kick the fans up, and go black. I've tried waiting it out and every possible key press, closing the laptop etc. The only thing that will make it go away is if the battery completely drains or I power off. Very annoying issue and it get's in the way sometimes. Is there anyway for me to get this fixed without having to pay $1000 for a new logic board..
