Q: Sim card not compatible

While updating my iphone 3GS to iOS 6 (from iOS 4.1) this msg popped up. "Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone......". I have been using this iphone with the existing sim card which wored perfectly. I'm is Sri Lanka and "Dialog" is my carrier network. What can I do to make my iphone work?

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1

sounds to me like the update have sim locked your phone

if it was jailbroken that would happen contact your carrier or the carrier it was  originally sim unlocked

    Rudegar,

    Thank you for your response.

It was jailbroken. I bought it from someone. I have no idea what the carrier it was originally sim locked, neither do he. Should be a carrier from another country. So is there anyother way? can it be unbroken? or can I undone the update and get back to iOS 4.1?
