kobo desktop

I have a new macbook pro. I am trying to download and set up the KOBO ereader desktop. I can download the file but it will not open.

can anyone help?

This may be a daft question, but you did download the right version (for mac), right?

Click on the .dmg, then open a Finder window. You should see the .dmg in the sidepanel. Click on it, then drag the Kobo app to your apps folder. Now you can double-click on it in your apps or launchpad and it should run.
