Oct 21, 2012 8:14 AMby steph0024,Yes. This is what I am trying to do. Here is the reason why. I keep getting a message that says my start up disk is full. I have deleted tons of files, I have 1TB but only using 40GB and it won't allow me to do anything. So I have backed up everything on a external hard drive and was going to start all over. I have a Macbook Pro that ONLY I use and have no problems with it but my husband and kids use the Imac and I have no idea what they could have done, especially my husband because he is barely computer savy but definitely not Mac savy. Any other recommendations?

Oct 21, 2012 9:35 AMby seventy one,This is a free app that will help clear or identify what is filling up your disk. Then you will know what to delete. Read first, but I think this will help.

Clearly you can't go much further until you have space to work in.

Oct 21, 2012 2:08 PMby Vappleslc,If you are trying to reinstall Snow Leopard then you need to have the disk inside the machine the shutdown the machine. Then right after you press and release the power key, you will need to press and holl the "C" key and then it will boot from the Snow Leopard install disk. Cmd+R only works if you are on Lion or Mountain Lion.
