I have imac os10.5.8.  Do not have tiger snow leopard or mountain lion.

I had a web site on mobile me, was told at the store to order a snow leopard cd online to upgrade,

then upgrade to mountain lion.  I can not find snow leopard?

Any suggestions

Hi, iWeb has been discontinued by Apple.

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.

then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...

    General requirements

       * Mac computer with an Intel processor

        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)

        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

        * DVD drive for installation

        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

It's been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.

Call Apple Sales...in the US: 1-800-MY-APPLE. Or Support... 1-800-275-2273

how do you upgrade to the 10.6?  what do you buy?

Looks like I am lacking in requirements?

    How do I

    get to 10.6?

    update to 10.6.8?

    then I buy 10.8 installer?

will these items get me the 5 GB of available disk space or will I need to buy external hard drive?

After all this can I download Mountain lion or do I need to do snowleopard first?

    Thanks

Looks like your iMac does support Mountain Lion. Call Apple to order Snow Leopard. Get that up and running, use Software Update to get to 10.6.8 and then use the Mac App Store to download Mountain Lion.

Besides the good advice so far, I'd really consider upping it to 6 GB of RAM...

Do a Get Info on your Hard Drive icon on the Desktop, how much available space does it have?

    1.48 gb used

But how much free space is left?
