My Photostream titles revert to the original Title originating in the camera. The new title I have assigned is not passed on to Photostream. My photo descriptions are not passed along either. I wanted to reorder the photos so I tried to set up an album, reorder them and share them from the album in that order. Didn't work. Backup plan was to rename the photos in sequence so they would sort and display in that order on Photostream. That didn't work either.

PS displays the photos in date order

That helps... I might be able to change the date/time. I still don't see why it insists on displaying the original Title assigned by the camera and in iPhoto on import.
Because the PS photos are not edited as you edit photos - if you edit a photo then you must drag the new version to the PS

This doesn't seem to help me. The following occurs ...
1) Go to photo in library and change the title
2) Drag photo to Photo Stream
3) Title appearing in Photo Stream is pre-change title
This would appear to satisfy yours "edit and drag" instruction, but the result isn't what is expected/desired.
Help please.
Photo Stream only displays the file name, not the Title. What you're doing is changing the Title which is different from the file name. To change the file name to the Title you must export the photo out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu opton and use the File Name = Title option.

Thanks Old Toad! Looks like that will work. I'll give it a try when I have a moment!
Forgot to add that you'll have to reimport those new, renamed files into iPhoto and add them to the Photo Stream.
Brilliant. Thanks very much. (Just for the record, I did assume the files would have to be imported but appreciate your attention to detail. 😉)
Thank you OT. You've solved a problem for me. Much appreciated!!
OT, thanks for the fix - this appears to work but the way this is setup by Apple is extremely frustrating.
If one has gone to the trouble of renaming an image in the iPhoto library, and then creates a photostream using that image, one would want the changed name to be seen by their friends/family with whom it is shared - as opposed to a generic jumble of date/letters/numbers/prefixes/suffixes that a camera came up with?
Strikes me as bad/lazy programming or a bug. Not sure which is worse.
Remember iPhoto was created and offered long before iCloud and PHoto Streams were available. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
