I got a message this afternoon that the Comcast Certificate had expired September 11 and now I can't send out mail on the Mac, but it works fine on the iPad WITH THE SAME SETTINGS. The message is that the certificate for this server is invalid.

The mail worked previously but refuses to send now. When I say to connect with the SMTP server, it will not work.

I also tried in the certificate info to always trust this certificate, but that didn't work either

Does the iPad not verify the certificate and the Mac does?

I can get incoming mail but I elected to get it though my domain provider and not the broadband provider.
