Where are iTunes backups stored on Mac?
I do not have a "MobileSync" folder located under "Application Support". Where else would the "Backup" folder possibly be located?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iPhone 4

Stored in one place. The location cannot be changed.
It's probably hidden. Try opening Finder, click on Go>Go to Folder and paste this into the path box:
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/, then tap Go.
In Windows XP:
[root]\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

I have the same problem as the OP. LIke the OP, I am running 10.6.8. I have enabled hidden files via Tinkertool, but the file isn't there.

I tried this, but it didn't work for me. I got "file not found."

You don't have to be a jerk about it. I have googled for it. I found an Apple support document that was not helpful, since it only referenced the folder that I cannot locate:
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes - Apple Support
The backups are located in one place, as the prior response to this over two year old thread show.
They would not be anywhere else. They either are hidden or not there.
Sorry.
It may be more helpful to start a new post as opposed to digging up a 2+ year old one.
Thank you. 🙂 I initially found this thread by googling (it is in the top three hits), so I thought I would post my solution here for others who might also arrive here in that manner.
I mistakenly copy/pasted into the Finder "Go" bar: /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
instead of: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
I did not copy the tilde at the beginning of the address. So I ended up in the main library instead of my Home folder.
I was able to find my backups after I corrected the error.
