393 world wide as of August 2012. No Franchises. All Apple Owned 🙂.

Or do you mean stores that simply sell Apple products? If so, probably somewhere in the region of 1 Bajillion stores!!!

Thanks for that link; unfortunately, that particular entry does not have a source listed (for the information) such as Apple, their PR department, etc, so it may or may not be accurate.

Yes, I have found a lot of inaccuracies with WikiPedia's info over the years, it is hard to tell how much of the information that you read is factual.

This link does have references, I still am not 100% sure as to this pages accuracy though.

ALL stores are owned by Apple; no franchises.

The number will of course change every time Apple open another store! 🙂

But that figure is very close to the number some of us were given recently.

So as of 10:00 A.M., 30 Oct 12 Pacific Time, according to Apple's webpage the total is 395
