Oct 22, 2012 11:07 AM in response to Josephpyeby randers4,iCloud doesn't store messages, except as part of you backup if you're backing up to iCloud (and those can only be restored to your phone, not viewed). Same with photos, other than photo stream photos, they are only contained in the backup and can only be restored to your phone, not accessed or viewed separately. Photo stream photos can only be accessed in the photo stream album on your phone.

Oct 22, 2012 11:18 AM in response to Josephpyeby randers4,I see, it sounds like you want to know how to restore to your iCloud backup to recover your photos, messages and other data and settings. If that's want you want to do, you have to do this during the setup process for your phone. If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

Oct 22, 2012 11:55 AM in response to Josephpyeby randers4,If you are saying that you can now see your backup but restoring to it is not completing, this may be caused by a poor or intermittent wifi connection, or trying to use the phone or receiving alerts or calls on the phone during the restore process. Sometimes starting the restore at night before going to bed can help avoid these issues. There are some suggestions on this here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036.
