Apple ID email issue

How do I get rid of an email address that I mistakenly created for my apple ID? I want to go back to the one I had originally howvever when I go into edit it and put in my old email address it says that it's Lready in use. I can't get it to accept it as my primary address and it keeps putting the one I don't want as the primary one

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.


It sounds like you have actually created a second Apple ID. As long as the email address is used in the original ID it is not available to use in the new ID.
