Q: Ok, I've tried this fix 5 times (not exagerating).  I still can't watch anything.  What up?

Since updating to an iphone 4s, I can't watch any of my movies or videos on my notebook.  I ve unintalled itunes and quicktime, and reinstalled them at least 5 times with no success.  What's up?

iPhone 4S, Windows 7

Doublechecking before proceeding ... it's giving you the "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not included in this version of iTunes. To play this movie, install QuickTime" message, even though QuickTime for Windows is installed on the PC? Or is something a bit different going on?

Not the problem. It is true that after uninstalling itunes and quick time player, and then reinstalling Itunes and attempting to access my movies, I did get the message about needing QT player. After reinstalling QT I don't get that message again, but when I attempt to play a movie, I get the message that "itunes has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This is how the problem first manifested itself after updating itunes for my new iphone 4s. The fix that windows directs me to is to reinstall itunes, and so the circular logic is complete.

I have a laptop that is not having this problem after the update. It runs on Windows XP. This is only happening on my Toshiba netbook running on Windows 7 starter.

    Thanks

THANK YOU!  It is fixed.  I disabled the Direct3D video acceleration and the movie played but without any audio.  I shut itunes down, then reopened it and played a tune successfully.  Then I tried the movie again and viola, audio and video.  Thanks for the tip.

You're welcome! Glad you got things sorted out.

(Fingers crossed, the bug will be fixed in the next iTunes version ... whenever that comes out ...)
