I want to print from my ipad to hp deskjet 3520 without a router. What to I need to do? I get different answers. Do I need to download the appf ro airprint on my I pad?

Unless you have the "A" model, Airprint will not work for you.

There are other options such as ePrint, and various printing apps on the App store.
