I want to print from my ipad to hp deskjet 3520 without a router. What to I need to do? I get different answers. Do I need to download the appf ro airprint on my I pad?

What do I need to do to print from my ipad to hp deskjet 3520 without a wireless router? Do I need the app for air print such as heprint?
