Sync iTunes Music Match to iPod Nano

I have my Music Match enabled (and love the full access on my iPhone and iPad!!!) but my wife also has an iPod Nano (6th Generation). She uses her laptop to sync and I have a copy of my library on there. Can I empty out her library, turn on music match and still sync with her iPod Nano?
