how do i check the flash storage usage?
How can I tell how much flash storage I've used? And, is there a way to calculate the size of storage needed to backup user data - not OS + user. Thank you

Does the flash storage device appear on your desktop? If not, open Finder Preferences (from Finder's menu) and check all the categories on the General tab under "Show these items on your desktop".
Then, once you see the flash drive on your desktop, control-click it and choose "Get Info". That will tell you the flash drive's usage, among other facts.
