How do I access my iPhone like a USB device for my photos with ios6 instead of getting photo stream?
iPhone 4, iOS 6
On a Windows computer you can go to Start - My Computer - iPhone.
Right click on the device and you can import your photos and videos.
You cant actually use your iphone as a storage device though as it will sync with your computer
The phone is recognized when I plug it in to the computer but it only allows me to access photo stream. Unlike ios5 where you were able to access your album. I guess that is my question how do I access my photo album instead of photo stream?

Your not able to use the iphone as a USB device.
But i think it would be a great idea. this way you would be able to use as a mobile HD aswell.

When you plug your iPhone into the computer, it should recognize it like a digital camera. You will be able to import the pictures to the computer. You also can sync pictures through iTunes back to the iPhone from the computer.
The only photos that you can access when the phone is plugged into the computer is the Camera Roll. Any other photos are ones that are synced from the computer to the phone. Those cannot be accessed. I don't use photostream, but if you connect the phone to the computer and go into Windows Explorer, you are saying you do not see the device to open the photo storage, or you are seeing something different?
actually, this is nonsense. my iPhone does not allow its camera roll or other photos to be shared, and that is a violation of my constitutional rights. There rae many apps that take photos or manipulate photos. ALL of those albums should be accessible without itunes to download from the iphone to something else.
This app allows for the phone to be used like a USB device (also via wifi) and works great, but I don't think you can access the camera roll.
Yeh you can only import photos that are on the camera roll because other photos that have been imported to the computer are on the computer already?
