Q: Why can't I find my iPod

Ok, so yesterday I got home after a long day and started to relax. Well, when I was about to go to sleep, I check my pockets for my iPhone and iPod. Well, my iPhone was there but my iPod wasn't. What was weird though was that I was listening to music from it on the way home. Anyways, like anyone would do, I immediately go onto iCloud and attempt to locate my missing iPod. The problem is that it only shows the location from two hours ago, and I'm for certain it is somewhere in my house, almost fully charged, but it won't let me play a sound to find it because it says Pending: Play Sound. All I'm asking is that had this happened to any if you guys, and if so, how did you find it. I've tried Yahoo! Answers, but they're not as cooperative.
