print to pdf does not work from textedit anymore

I used to be able to print to pdf from textedit 1.8.

I started playing around with the presets for my laser printer.

Of course, some of the settings don't stick, so presets are useless.

But then I discovered that when I print to pdf from textedit, I get an error while printing message.

I can't print to pdf anymore from textedit, but it does work from several other apps.

So I assume something is wrong within textedit or printing.

I deleted the customized presets. That did not help.

I reinstalled the printer. That did not help.

I used textedit 1.8 from a backup. That did not help.

I removed the following plists and restarted. That did not help.

Other apps can print to pdf.
