What is wrong with my Calendar? Calendar Error Message: CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation

I have no idea what happened, but when I signed in to the WIFI on my campus I got this message on my MacBook from Calendar. "The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “iCloud” failed."


Then I noticed I was missing events in my Calendar on my iPhone. Then when I got home I started having the same problem with my iMac.


I exported the Calendar archive and then re-imported it and that fixed it for a few minutes, but then while I was trying to get the iPhone to download everything from iCloud is started doing the same thing again, on both my MacBook and my iMac.


iCloud is messing up and I am not sure why


I have 5 different calendars on iCloud. Everything has worked perfect since the I bought this iPhone 4s last year. I didn't change any settings, but for whatever reason it cannot connect.


I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on both computers and iOS 6.0 on the iPhone 4s


Any ideas?

Same problem here. Contacts sync to devices via icloud but calendar is having a problem. It's been a few days for me now.


Here's my console errors...

This still problem and haven't found a solution. If I turn off/unlink calendar from the icloud sys pref, I believe I lose all of my events... that are not synced up to icloud which at this point must be at least a month.


Maybe a solution to backup locally. Turn icloud calednar off, kill the calendars in icloud and see if there's a way to import/restore my local backup to be used in icloud?

Just noticed that on my Mac I have icloud set as a @me.com address but on my devices and on icloud.com I have it set as @mac.com. It's only the calendar that has the problem though and I THINK I've had it this way for awhile. Maybe since mobileme went away? I still worry about fixing that and possible loosing events either on my mac or in the cloud since they aren't in sync.

I just started having The Problem (Calendar events created on iPhone sync with iCloud, but not with iCal on my MacBook). This seems to have started at the same time, Nov. 7, 2012, that I got an email from Apple informing me that:

User uploaded file

"All new iCloud Mail accounts now come with an @icloud.com email address. As an existing user, we'd like to offer you this new address as well...."


I haven't changed any of my settings on any devices, but alas, events I create on my MacBook iCal are giving me the lightning bolt of death warning on the events themselves, along with the error message when I click through on the Calendar button at the top left of iCal:


The server responded with an error.

Unforutnately it didn't work for me. Created a new calendar under ical on the Mac. Added an item and waited.

Then got the same error again. Then I treid creating a new calendar on icloud.com. Never made it to the desktop.


Seems like I'm going to be in a bit of pain soon when I have to blow out what's on my mac and then try to reconcile what's new on my phone/icloud and what's new on my Mac given this problem has been ongoing w/o a solution for a month. I'll probably pick my mac and export data, kill the calendars in all places and start over. Not sure what I can do about any new events that are on my phone that didn't ever make it to my Mac during that period where I didn't notice it wasn't syncing. Fun.

I wish I could tell you that would fix the problem. I tried it. I deleted all calendars from all devices and iCloud. I also changed all my sign in data on all devices so it was iCloud.com. I also upgraded all my devices to iOS6 and the latest updates. None of that works.


The problem just is not on the client devices. It is with the server/server software that Apple maintains. If the server/server software was functioning properly, it would not respond with an error when trying to input or update an event. However, it does respond with an error every time -- "server error" according to Apple's own iCloud. They have a problem and need to fix it. It seems to have started with the announcement that iCloud.com email addresses were available for mac.com and me.com users, so that seems a good place for them to start looking.

What's also strange is there's no problem transmitting contact data from my iMac to my phone over iCloud--Contacts are working fine. The problem is just with iCal.


Also odd: I can update something on my calendar on my iPhone and it will transmit fine to my computer's calendar, but anything I add/update on my computer's calendar doesn't get transmitted to my phone.


It's really making it hard to work remotely--can't schedule any meetings unless I'm home looking at my calendar.

Mine is still unresolved, but I have lodged it with Apple support. It's obviously a difficult one as it's taking significant time.


I tried the suggested solution of creating a new calendar. It half worked. Events created on iCloud.com (ie via the iCloud website) came through to the new calendar, but anything created on the Mac didn't.


I also have the same problems with the Reminders app - reminders created on the Mac app never get anywhere. Reminders created on iCloud.com website push through to everything, as does anything created on iOS devices.


Can I suggest everyone log the fault with Apple support - the more that have it, the better the chance of it getting higher priority attention. And also, none of our solutions are working, so why not let those who are paid to do this pull their hair out, rather than us.


For those worried about not having their calendar up-to-date an accessible everywhere, I'm using the online calendar on iCloud.com. It's after all the "master record", so when the link issue gets resolved it will pull everything from the server to the desktop app - AND it's accessible everywhere you have internet and functions just like the desktop app.

I had the same experience as `Maverick: The new calendar worked fine between my iPhone and Calendar on iCloud via my browser, but iCal on my MacBook was still out of the loop. And, this morning I got up to try something else, and it's all working again. I suspect that Apple figured something out on their servers, but that's just my guess.


Maverick, For future episodes, how is it that you "lodged it with Apple support"? I'm unclear how I would go about doing that? Thanks! (I think your report might have catalyzed the solution)
