How can I update Ipod touch from 4.2 - 4.3
The reason being is that I cannot get Facebook ap to load as only have 4.2 software.

It sounds like you actually have a 2G iPod Touch, which can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1 and no later. See here to help you verify what generation your iPod Touch is.
If it's 2G iPod Touch, I"m afraid you won't be able to load the app until you have an older version that support iOS 4.2.1 still stored somewhere on your PC or a backup.
