Trying to connect our new brother 5470dw to our wireless network and we get printer off line message. Any suggestions.

Direct connect the printer to an ethernet port on your router and verify that your computer prints just fine to it.
You can then disconnect the ethernet cable and try the wireless connection. Make sure the printer and the computer trying to print to it are on the SAME wireless network.
