You can use Library Tunes to help move your iTunes library without erasing. You may need to use SharePod to transfer additional items once your laptop's iTunes library becomes accessible to your Apple device. Library Tunes lets you set up multiple iTunes libraries with the same internal ID. This means you can add new content from your iTunes library to your device from multiple computers instead of being locked down to one library.
