I want to purchase a song in the UK store, but my apple id is Canadian and itunes will not allow me to purchase it. How can I purchase this song?

You can't, you can only purchase from your own country's store. You can try requesting that it be added to the Canadian store, but ultimately it's the record company that will have to grant Apple a license to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
Is it available on other music purchase download sites that you have access to ?
