Need java 6.0 to update important program

I'm the lucky owner of a MacBook Pro, it has Mac OS X 10.5.8. But I can't seem to run the needed java version, please help! I really need to make this update, as it is for a program I use at my school called TI-Nspire CAS Student Software. My MacBook is about 5 years old.
Hope somebody can help, I need it bad!

Since August 2012 updates for Java (and especially Java Runtime Environment, which is what you actually need) must now be downloaded direct from Oracle:

Further information here:

and their FAQ’s:

However, if you need the Jave 6 JRE and plug-in, MadMAC0 has posted at

Apple has also posted (Oct 22/12) the approved solution for restoring the Java 6 plug-in:

Java for OS X 2012-006: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 applet plug-in and Web Start functionality.
