There's more to that message, that just tells you where the file is. That said, I don't believe there is support for the Raw from the D600 yet.

It will be very difficult to get a cop of 10.7 now as it was only sold as a download. You need to move to 10.8 if you want native Raw support in iPhoto for your new camera.

Alternatively, you can explore other options. Will Lightroom support it? Will it run on 10.6.8? If you really don;t want to upgrade the OS then it might be worth posting that one on the Adobe forums.

All of that said, sooner or later you will leave 10.6 behind. It might be worth finding out what went wrong last time you upgraded and see if you can avoid that next time.

For instance, rather than using Time machine, why not make a bootable clone of your machine with an app like Carbon Copy Cloner before upgrading?

This is the first time ever that I have had this many problems with my Apple products not being compatible with software and I have udgraded sevearal times. PS5 is not that old. I bought it just a couple years ago. Can't keep spening $$$ to keep things running. I had to upgrade to OS 10.8 in order to use my Raw files with my camera, now it is going to cost me $$$ to have my other programs work on this OS.

Maybe - Maybe - check with Adobe re PS 5 - current version of PS is an old program released in May 1998 -- many, many versions since then

PS 5 is definitely not compatible with Mt. Lion. If you can't affort an upgrade to PS consider purchasinge Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac. It has about 70 percent of PS's capabilities, probably closer to 90 percent of PS 5 at around $79.

The only feature of PS that I use that PSE doesn't have is creating/using CMYK mode files. The new PSE has features that PS 5 could only dream of. You should visit the PSE site and see what it's capable of.

Well,it is is woking somewhat but not great. I just bought the PS5 less then two years ago for over $700.00. I would expect it to be able to work for many more years than that, expecially when the PS6 version is about the same features. I am not about to downgrade to elements after spending tons of money for PS5. I have all the elements up to version 8.

Ok, this new camera is turning into a money pit. I bought the D600 Nikon, then my Apple Snow Leopard Operation System would not support (let me download raw files) my Raw files, so then I had to upgrade to the new Operating System on the Mac, the Mountain Lion. Now my Photoshop 5 will not work on the new Operating System so I have to upgrade to PS6.

It is discouraging that we have to keep upgrading when the upgraded versions are hardly any different than the current version. I see little difference in the operating systems except for the fact they don't support current programs and software.
