Oct 25, 2012 9:10 AM in response to leonard r.by schmackhaft, leonard r, try deleting your Layouts folder.
I tried using "Preference Manager" from Digital Rebellion to see if it deletes it, but it doesn't.
You can find the Layouts folder in the Motion folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Motion/
*By default, your user library is hidden so use cmd+shift+g to bring up the Go to Folder window and type ~/Library
I just verified that that folder is recreated when you launch Motion so you don't need to replace it with anything.

Oct 25, 2012 9:15 AM in response to leonard r.by WMYD,little more info. did my 1st download on tuesday once i got the update email. came back in the morning, i was geeked and i ran fine. opened multiple projects, fine, went to do some project editing in fcx update, cool... went back to motion, new project it opened with original layout, go to switch to dual view, all option were greyed out. checked to make sure both monitors still connected (YES). i would click on view menu, mtion would crash.. did several times. trashed motion, app store reinstalled (about 8 times). app store tech says do what i already did.... my heart is hurting (sad face), then decided to time machine back (love it)...... so hopefully we can get an answer soon, like the new updates in both fcx & motion
