No DVD drive in new iMac ???

Yes, I can see that occurring eventually. But in the real world, apple shot itself in the foot be eliminating the optical drive, because they are still so widely used in business and science.

Ohhhh!!! Group hug!!! Ja!! My turn!!! Ja!!! I’m really ****** about the fact that the 27” imac was really going to be a pro asset but now it’s a common user machine. Hopped for it to be the step between a 21” imac and a mac pro that I can’t afford. I don’t know about other pros but when you plug something in you don’t unplug until you buy a new computer or rat forms a nest on it!!!! Ja!!!! The solution to the DVD drive is annoying for me because I work with DVD… Don’t get me wrong I’ll buy the darn thing but I used to buy apple products with the absolute conviction that they thought of every aspect, that feeling is gone!! And now testing to go from final cut to premiere (I used to hate the name premiere… but now it looks good!!!!)!!!!

I guess we will have to wait and see. But, Apple is usually pretty good at reading the market.

I am kinda curious to see what happens in the new MacPro that is due out some time this year.

I miss Apple's old QuickTime VR studio as well. I wish they would bring that back.

My antenna on my roof delivers uncompressed HD - has an unobstructed line to all the TV towers. Except for the cost of the parts and installation, it has the perfect monthly price: free.

It will sell and they are write on the money as market concerns!!! But they are loosing me… I’m a fan of mac and user for pro video and I think they are going for other people the normal consumer. The will win, they are not wrong it’s just that the ones who is gonna suffer from it its gonna be the pro audio/video guys….

I don't know if they work for apple, or just drank too much apple juice, but the majority of their posts are boyish drivel.

Indeed, as a User I'm POed, or at least disappointed, but if Running Apple I'm sure elimination of a built-in Optical will save $$$ in repair costs. 🙂
