Yeah, I've been looking at some of the listings for people trying to sell their iPad 3's. The prices are all over the map. I don't know what would be a fair asking price. I've had it less than three weeks, but is that as important as the current market value or the date it was released? It's in mint condition, but it is stil a used piece of technology that has a newer, better version out there. Stuck between wanting to recoup some of my money while being fair with the person I sell it to.

Remember when owning an Apple product was fun?

Again... Thank you apple for turning us down!

This would be my last iOS device.

Thanks you for releasing the ipad 4 very quick and let your customer feel bad for their hard earned money!

Its certainly not worth the 2nd hand value it would of been worth before apple discontinued it.What beats me up more is why are they continuing to market  the ipad 2 over the ipad 3rd gen.Apples certainly lost the plot on this one. That certainly aint "AMAZING" or FANTASTIC or what ever over exagirated word they choose to use for their products ..

Same here folks, I am really upset with apple.  I upgraded my IPAD 2 to IPAD 3, 4 months back. I feel ripped off.

Fuzionip4ios4, can you advise when u purchased your iPad 3 and where from as I too have a iPad 3 4G version and have just found out it will never work on the UK networks. Thanks sorry for double post

+1 for sure. The iPad 3 was my first (and now my last for sure!) Apple product. And i feels amazing that Apple treats their customers like a peace of ****. I paid 760$ (Danish price) for an awesome 32GB tablet, and now you leave it obsolete after 6 months. **** YOU APPLE!

I'm getting back on android again.

    Hi

It's back from the launch day in march , however a friend

has spoken to another apple store in the same city

And was told no not unless it's within 14 days!

So now I'm not so sure what I was told is correct

But will be ringing them again tomorrow to clarify

Before going the ASA route and claiming

They miss sold the iPad 3 with reference to the

4g capabilities in the uk. which the advertising Standerd authority

have already been Looking into! Hopefully apple will see sence

And swap it out for me

Thanks for the info. I'm in the same position and will be calling tomorrow.  Bought mine online so will call them first.

I, like a lot of you feel really let down by Apple on this one. I received my new iPad on Monday from an authorised Apple reseller here in the UK.

After speaking to my local store here in Leicester, they have said that they will only honour a 30 day exchange for iPads purchased in an Apple store so looks like I am out of luck and my shiny new top of the range £400 iPad is now worth £60 less than it was yesterday. The reseller has said that the iPad can only be returned if faulty.

Does anyone else here have a similar issue having bought an iPad from a authorised reseller rather than Apple themselves? If so, it would be good to hear if anyone has had any better luck than me. I believe apple should take back all new iPad 3's purchased in the last 30 days from all retailers as long as there is a proof of purchase. Surely this is fair?

    My email to Apple,

Hi, I never complain and if anything I am one of your most loyal customers, I have an iMac, Apple TV, iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5, and 2 weeks ago i purchased an iPad for my university work. Problem is with the new release it immediately outdated my iPad, so I phoned up and was made aware of being able to take it to an Apple store and within 30 days be given a 4th gen one. But this had to have been purchased in an Apple store, my iPad was purchased from a high street retailer here in the UK called Argos, its a huge chain and I paid the £399 RRP for it, yet as it wasn't bought directly from Apple (which the nearest store is 120 miles away) I am stuck with it. Also with the new retina display Macbooks, my 6 month old laptop is know also worthless. I buy every new Apple device, and even in my job always recommend iPad and iPhone over everything else, if new devices are going to come out every week then I am going to seriously consider giving up and going for the alternative. I love Apple just thought I'd say something as the love is ending a bit.

    Regards,

    John McCullough

I did get a call back from the manager at our local Apple store. It took a bit, but he agreed to approve a full return (not an exchange) as long as I brought it in today. I just got back, and the return went smoothly. I bought mine on October 5, so I can't say if the 30-day window is open for everyone or that every store will approve a return past the 14-day standard window.

I would suggest that you call your local Apple store and ask to speak to a manager. Frontline staff are unlikely to be able to bend the rules or extend return periods. And do it quickly, as I suspect with each passing day it is going to become more difficult to get any flexibility out of them.

If you're already beyond the 30-day period, odd look very slim that you'll be able to do a return, but it may be worth checking. Good luck everyone. I hope Apple does the right thing for each of you.

I too am feeling ripped off by Apple. Seriously, never even rumours of an iPad4, bought mine 45 days ago or so. Seriously, where is the customer service or awarding loyalty? Apple has really disappointed me.
