Q: error 18000 during outlook 2011 rebuild

After recently having the hard drive in my iMac replaced, I get an "Your database could not be rebuilt. [-Error 18000]" when I try to restore my applications from Time Machine. How do I get past this problem.

Can somebody explain to me where I can find underneath items:

    1. Make a duplicate copy of your data to work with and keep your original corrupted identity safe in case this method of recovery doesn’t work for you.

I need to restore the data base as explained by Rob 88 but the start is more important then anything else. So where can I find the "original corrupted identity safe"??

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hello Hans,

Go to documents, Microsoft User Data, Office 2011 Identities, and duplicate the main identity

    Fletch,

Please help. My Microsoft Office 2011 is version 14.3.0 and your solution does not work. Do you know another way to get my mail back?

By the way it went wrong when office updated. I tried to get back to the past using time machine, but that did not work at all.

    Greetings, Wilbert

I have got it. Very simpel. I used time machine and got back to 1 day before the problem occurred. I put the next folders back: Microsoft Office 2011 (from the applications) and Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 SP1 (from the documents) and Microsoft User Data (also from the documents).

    Everything works very well again.

Hope you can do this to.

    Wilbert

After trying various solutions, i gave up and  called Microsoft support for Mac at 866-474-4882 and they had it fixed in no time (albeit for a small fee).

After 4 hours of frustration, i could fix the problem. It was thanks to solution provided on one of the forums (sorry i lost forums because i have surfing like crazy).  i just created new identity, copied everything but 'folders' folder and from old identity to new and rebuilt new identity. it has worked.

    thank you all for supporting.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Rob 88.

Worked like a treat after 5 hours of searching and trying other solutions. However, deleting the database from the new identity did not work for me, once I copied the new identity database back, the rebuild was successful. But I do need to look at my files as they are 25Gb, but just proves that your process works.
