Is OSXDAILY a good source of info?

I asked about how to create a new admin password without my disc and got them as a resource.

What do you think?

Hold command s when booting the machine, a scary black screen with white type appears

when it stops type and press enter after each line

fsck -fy

mount -uw /

ls /Users/

(find the user name from what appears)

passwd "username here no quotes"

exit

That's it

More detail

fsck {space} -fy

mount {space} -uw {space} /

ls {space} /Users/

passwd {space} johnyoung

exit

So if the name is johnyoung it would be like this:

fsck -fy

mount -uw /

ls /Users/

passwd johnyoung

exit

No problem here, like how they give out hacks that work.

What's the problem? Scary single user mode?

That's how it's done unfortunatly, without the disk.

Call Apple via phone for a new disk instead. 🙂
