"static.ak.facebook.com" cannot verify server error

Mine started the same thing tonight? What gives, I am seeing this reported tonight for several threads on here!

This is very annoying. I rest safari and restarted MacBook Pro but still happening.😕

Yikes - me too. Started just tonight! How do we stop it?

I just started a thread with the same complaint. I get the message on almost every site I visit on my iMac and I've even gotten it on my iPod. On top of that, Safari is starting hang, which it never did before. I've reset Safari, manually emptied the cache, cleared cookies, and shut everything down, all to no avail. There's something nasty out there and it's time to put a stake through its heart!

Anybody have any information of what this error is?

This started about almost two hours ago! Very annoying! I have deleted my Facebook App to see if that would work but it still popping up on every site!

Same here. Suddenly appearing on iPhone and iPad. Cleared all data and retarted, but no help. Is this actually Facebook? And even if it is legitimately Facebook, why would this happen for any and every URL?

It seems to appear on websites that have "like" or "share" facebook widgets (besides facebook's real site). Any site with those buttons are shooting out this error message and making the website practically unusable. No idea how to stop it. Sounds like its something fishy with facebook. Thought I had a virus for a bit...

Yep - same thing is happening to me.

Ah yeah you're right - it isn't every site I visit, just those with FB widgets. Just seemed like every unrelated site. That's a little reassuring.

Good you also, it stopped about 5 minutes ago, went to all the sites with issues and no more of the certificate error!

this started happening to me tonight as well. I'm assuming it's okay to allow my MacBookPro & iPhone to 'trust' it then? ...considering Zynga.com (which i clicked the 'FaceBook Log In' button) did the trigger for it to constantly pop up. i tested this theory on my phone... same thing. so i am hoping it's okay considering it has to do with facebook connecting with other sites... do you think it'll stop popping-up,if i allow it?

I am having the same problem on my MacBook and iPhone. I'm not sure what it is but I just got it today. Is it facebook?
