Specs say both CDMA, and GSM capable. 4s

I have a Verizon i-phone 4s. No contract. Specs say it can be used on CDMA or GSM. I really need GSM.

Neither Verizon or AT&T can or will help. It has a sim card slot. Please help me.

Nothing we can do for you.

Carriers lock phones; only carriers unlock phones. Verizon will unlock the GSM portion of it's phone, but only for INTERNATIONAL use.

Nothing we users here nor Apple can do. Fair, probably not. Legal? Absolutely.

This helped, but didn't make me happy! Thank you. I'll use my 4 and sell the 4s 64 g. I had no problem with

the Verizon network, but I am a single person with apple laptop and phone. There is no affordable plan for me

with Verizon. It's like McDonald's advertizing, buy one Big Mac and get one free!!! I can barely eat one, and

leftover no way. Thanks again!

...and they are basically the same phone all around out of the box, no matter what carrier, as the lock/unlock is done when you activate it. All ipHones essentially ship "unlocked", and some are "earmarked" as unlocked and are sold carrier free, which is the one you bought. Has nothing to do with model numbers...

And BTW the numbers you quoted are not model numbers. If you want to get technical....

I "inferred"? No, you all assumed. At the time of purchase the genius used the exact words 'I will need to unlock this before you leave the store'. Did he miscommunicate to me?

My whole point here I guess is if we new users must be more specific in our posts to get a helpful answer instead of sarcasm or belittling then you high level helpers should ask us pointed questions that we can answer instead of trying to guess what you are talking about. Help us to help ourselves please.
