After the recent update to IOS 6 I am finding that the dial pad and Media schemes are lacking contrast. As someone who requires contrast due to vision difficulties, this is a pain. Is there a way to change the scheme? or do we have to wait until there is another IOS 6 for my now obsolete 4S?

Yes, the new dial-pad is terrible. Complain directly to Apple. Meanwhile try:
Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home > Invert Colors
You can then triple-click the Home button on those screens.
it's actually harder to read. Much more aggrivating in low light. I hate it. I want my nice readable phone pad back.
I left feedback to Apple. Join the cause for color customization.
