It looks like organizing All My Files by "Kind" in Mountain Lion is alphabetical only. Is there a way to reogranize these to the most common "kind" are at the top of the list?
I use mostly Pages, Photoshop and Corel Painter and have little occasion to go into any other applications. Can All My Files be set up to bring those to the top of the list using "Kind" or some other criteria? Thanks,

If those are what you are interested in, you could use a Smart Folder to show just those Kinds.
Jeffrey, I know about smart folders in iPhoto, but nothing comes up in Finder for "All My Files" so what am I missing?

File > New Smart Folder.
Add search criteria by clicking the + button (next to the Save button). To add multiple criteria, such as "Any of the following Kinds", hold the Option key when adding additional lines.
Jeffrey, it doesn't seem to work or perhaps I can't get it to work that way.
I want my Pages and Text and Photoshop files to come to the top of the "All My Files" screen by Kind. I don't need separate folders, those folders already exist in "All…" I just want to reorder them.
Not that big a deal, I can scroll down through the alpha listing, but I'd like to do it my way instead of Apple's way.
