Does anyone know where I could find the a programming code to use a Time Warner Remote to control Apple TV?

I'm using a Time Warner Cable Universal Remote. model number UR5U-8780L-TWY.

Unfortunately the instruction manual that comes with it is older than Apple TV. There is a code to select random frequencies but all that does is turn the device off and since Apple TV technically has no off switch I can't use that method. I wonder if anyone knows of a code to program the remote so it can work w/ Apple TV.

Thanks in advance.

The 836 code does not work for the Apple TV 4. However, if you use code 832, then you the Apple TV can learn the remote. As described at Engadget, go to "Settings > General > Remotes. There, you'll find an option called "Learn Remote."" For more info see https://www.engadget.com/2012/03/30/how-to-control-apple-tv-with-a-third-party-r emote/ This worked quite well, and allowed me to program all of the useful buttons, both basic and advanced.

According to the website: http://www.timewarnercable.com/content/dam/residential/images/support/faqs/TV/Re motes/CLIKR5_UR5L-8700L.pdf

The code is 836. It worked for me. Now I just have to see if any of the extra buttons will work.

I have an older version of the same TV remote manual that didn't have Apple TV listed.

For people looking for non TWC remotes they might be helped by checking out remotecentral.com
