What resolution will the 2012 Mac Mini be?

I want to but a Mac Mini and I'm considering hooking it up to a HD tv that I'm also going to e purchasing, which will a) be cheaper than an apple display and b) double as our TV. Obviously this will work with HDMI, but will I get a decent resolution and clear pictures on there, comparable to a monitor? Does it solely depend on the resolution of the TV and Mac Mini? All I see is Intel HD 4000 but no (max) resolution. Does anyone have any tips or links I can read up on to understand this better, or even advice against it, if using one as a monitor is considered a bad idea?

it's depend on the resolution on the TV to, mac mini support up to 2500p (i'm not sure the exact number).. and it depends on your tv response time too , if u wan to run smoothly it must be at least 5ms response time .

If it's like the 2011 model, you can display up to 1920x1080 on an HDTV via the HDMI connection.

I did this for a while with my 2011 mini, and it works OK, with the caveat that text appears grainy due to the large dot pitch of most televisions when compared to good computer monitors.

Unless you've bought a very special (and rare and expensive) HD-TV, it will have a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. That cannot be changed.

You will NOT want to sit too close to it or you will see the pixels, if you, for example, put it on a desk about 1 metre from your eyes!
