smartphone audio issues

After 4 days and a dozen "experts" still my iMovie11 project works fine on the Mac or PC or the iPad but the audio will not play on any smartphone. Am I the ONLY person with this issue? I've tried every setting there is when exporting to Quicktime, same problem. A friend created and posted his movie to You Tube and did not have this problem so I suspect something on my system but can't find it. Any ideas out there? I've even changed resolution of video but to no avail. audio continues to be cliped or white noised out on a smartphone. What am I missing?
