Magenta flashes at random places in timeline

Just updated to the new version 10.0.6. Busy working on a project for a customer. Spent 2 weeks on filtering out all noise from the audio. Footage almost ready. Apple updates and BANG: magenta "flashes" (I guess 1 frame; very short bursts) randomly at transitions. Footage unusable as Flashes are also visible in the exported version (ProRes 422).

Question: Has anyone else experienced this problem? I did not have this before the update, so either it's a bug and then I will file a report, or something went wrong in the update process.

If anyone can shed light on this, I'd be grateful. I really don't feel like doing it all over again in Media Composer 6.5 <ughh>.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the help. I tried removing the files as suggested. Nothing helped.

Then I noticed that -- if I advanced frame by frame -- I could actually see each single frame with the problem. It looked very weird, with green areas where there had been white and magenta where there should be red.

Keeping such a single frame active in the viewer I started turning off effects in the Inspector. I use Irudis Tonalizer/VFX for colour correction, and when I turned off this plugin the effect was gone.

Apparently, Irudis' plug-in -- which I reviewed on IT Enquirer earlier, and which I highly recommended -- has somehow become incompatible with the new version. Doesn't make sense to me, but it appears that way.

Again, thanks. If I wouldn't have removed the files as you suggested, I would still have been thinking it would have been something directly linked to the update itself.

I experienced the same problem of magenta flash on Magic Bullets Looks 2.0.8. Everything has been fine w/ 10.0.5. But when I upgraded to 10.0.6, the annoying flash appears. Tried w/ a completely new project, new clip and applied the Looks filter. The flash is inevitable. This is not useable in production. Luckily made a backup img of the whole OSX w/ the older 10.0.5 and can revert back.

I suspect there's something new w/ 10.0.6 and all 3rd party plugins have to be updated to fix the magentia flash.

Does anyone know where I can file this as a bug? I can't find a link to any sort of bug reporting page. And as FCP doesn't crash I also can't send a report from my desktop...

Plugins need to be updated, you say. I can't imagine that's the reason why it happens. Wouldn't Apple have informed their plugin developers up front if something has changed?

Send feedback clearly labelled as a bug report from the Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback from inside FCPX in the Final Cut Pro menu.

People do read these reports and in some instances you're asked if you'd be prepared to help them diagnose the issue or provide further information.

The more people use this feedback tool the better. They are most certainly listening and more importantly acting on the feedback they receive.

Hello !

I don't remenber having this pb with 10.0.6, but I've definetely got it with 10.0.7 !

The magenta frames appear when using Lock&Load AND Finisher or ToneGrade (CrumplePop) . If I disable L&L they vanish and if I disable Finisher or ToneGrade but keep L&L, they vanish too... .

I'm working on a new project, so it's not a pb of having started it in 10.0.6 and going on after updating .

There seems to be an uncompatibility between L&L and CrumplePop plug-ins in my case .User uploaded file
