It's actually a pretty major update. Are you running any third party software or pliugins?
No third party software or plug ins.
Could this update corrupt all of my previous projects?

Oct 26, 2012 11:59 AM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by Tom Wolsky,I don't see how it could do that. Does the application work with new projects, or is it completely not functional?

Oct 26, 2012 2:42 PM in response to Tom Wolskyby jeff Leyshon 66,Started a new project and copied and pasted clips from an old one, then rendered. It crashed.
Had no problem with my Mac until the update.
After FCPX crashes it causes either the Finder to crash or Safari a few minutes later.
By 'crash' in this case I mean that the application is 'not responding' and that I have to Force Quit it.

Oct 26, 2012 4:42 PM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by syucomm,Hi, i have read this from Red Giant site maybe is useful if you have magic bullet looks or plural eyes:
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to some last minute changes in XML formatting for FCPX 10.0.6 that we did not catch right away, if you update to 10.0.6, you will encounter issues while usingPluralEyes. Our engineers are hard at work to get an out to you as soon as possible that solves this problem. We’ll let you know as soon as the fix is ready. We are currently testing and re-evaluating other performance issues with Magic Bullet Looks in Final Cut Pro X and will post updates when we have more information from our Engineering Team.

Oct 27, 2012 1:16 AM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by jeff Leyshon 66,Another development, the App Store tells me I need to update FCPX. Obviously I already have, and I do indeed have 10.0.6 installed. I am asumming this is a glitch??

Oct 27, 2012 2:08 AM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by syucomm,I have tried one thing suggested to me.
In the project pane click on the project and then go to FILE->delete project render file then delete all rendering files. This reprocess from 0 my background rendering but for now i'm ok.

Oct 27, 2012 6:00 AM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by jeff Leyshon 66,Here's how things stand at the moment.
The App Store informed me that FCPX needed upgrading even though I had already done this.
I thought it can't make things worse, can it??
So I upgraded again....
Everything seems fine. Rendering with no problems. Even seems a bit faster then the previous version.
I can only imagine that the first upgrade didn't install well. Who knows.
I'm just glad that my work is not corrupted or incompatible.
To recap, I have thrown away all render files, uninstalled FCPX and reinstalled, repaired permissions and disk countless times all to no avail. But re upgrading to 10.0.6 because the App Store insisted I had to upgrade again seems to have worked.
Thank you to all those who have taken the time to help in this matter.
I'll be back if everything goes belly up.
Jeff

Oct 29, 2012 1:12 PM in response to jeff Leyshon 66by javiquil,Also happening here... at the beginning it said it was a plugin but I ended deleting them all and FCPX still crashes all the time and its making Safari crash aswell
I don't know what's happening nowadays at apple... they should test the software more and more before they release it.
here is where I get:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000

Oct 29, 2012 1:56 PM in response to Tom Wolskyby javiquil,4 times in half an hour... not hunging but closing safari entirely.

Oct 29, 2012 2:00 PM in response to javiquilby Tom Wolsky,Why do you think that Final Cut Pro is closing Safari? I cannot see how it can do that. The applications are sandboxed. The only way is if you are playing video on Safari in some weird format and are trying to use the same format, which isn't supported, in FCP, and even then I don't think one application can crah another the way you say.
