Youtube "This video is currently unavailable" in Safari 6.0.1

So I've had this problem for a few weeks now and it's been driving me up the wall, but after fruitless internet searches in an attempt to solve it I've finally decided to submit a support ticket.

This seems to be a widespread issue, but on my iMac running Safari 6.0.1 a lot of videos in YouTube won't play and come up with the message "This video is currently unavailable". I can however view these very same videos without issue on my Macbook (running a lower version of Safari) or on my iPhone.

Someone please tell me how to fix this as it's driving me crazy!

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

In addition to my previous comment, I already have the latest version of flash installed from the Adobe website.

Select Help ▹ Installed Plug-ins from the Safari menu bar. Besides the following, what plugins are listed?

iPhotoPhotocast

Java

QuickTime

WebKit built-in PDF

If you're enrolled in the YouTube beta test of HTML5, opt out of it here:

YouTube HTML5 Video Player

Otherwise, select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

Thanks a lot! Opting out of HTML5 on YouTube has solved the problem.

I am experiencing the same problem. Every time I try to play a YouTube video, the video never loads and I get a message "This video is no longer available."

I tried opting out of the YouTube beta version. Any other ideas?
