iCloud and photo streaming

I'm trying to put a checkmark in the photostream box in the iCloud settings, but it won't let me.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Have you installed iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3? If not, open App Store and purchase Aperture or iPhoto
