Retina display small dot in screen

So, I have a 15 inch retina display macbook pro.

I recently noticed a small dot in the middle of the screen. I went to wipe it away and it didn't go away.

I tried really hard to remove it with a cloth and it wouldn't budge. This is the first time I've noticed this mark.

The laptop is three weeks old and I haven't dropped it or budged it quickly in any way.

I'm afraid of it being a permanent mark and I don't want to try too hard to remove because

I am afraid of damaging it more.

It's not ridiculously distracting but I do notice it.

What can I do to find out what it is? What to do about it?

Svrolls,

I have just had exactly the same thing with my two week old 15inch macbook pro. This little black dot appeared in the top-middle of the screen, ive called apple and they have told me to take it in, i just hope they dont say its accidental damage because the laptop has barely left my house!!! What happened with yours?

Bought my Macbook Pro Retina in 2015. I have 3 pin dots of light that show on a dark screen in the same spot all the time. Do retina screens go bad?

Sounds like it might be a dead pixel. I would bring to Apple store. A dead pixel is a hardware issue. There are some programs on the net that you can use to try and release the pixel, but they are not very effective.

Do a google search for dead pixel video and try. If its still there- make apt.
