canon xl1 dv footage in final cut studio (7) remains out of sync

I captured Canon XL1 DV footage via firewire to Final Cut Studio (7). However, the audio goes out of sync. Apparently the automatic matching of audio to video rate described in this article

no longer works.


any solutions out there?
