I have the exact same problem. Pulled lots of hair out trying to solve it, no luck. I completely uninstalled all Apple software (QuickTime, iTunes, Software Update, Mobile Device Support, etc) and rebooted, downloaded fresh copies of iTunes installer, tested a completely fresh user profile (blank iTunes library) etc etc. Same crash 100% all the time as soon as iTunes Store is clicked and the resources start to load.

I have found one thing that "works" -- find itunes.exe (for me it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes) and right click on it and go to the Compatibility tab. Check off "Run in 256 colors" and click OK. Now launch iTunes. You screen will go all funky but -- the crash will stop, at least it did for me.

Apple, please fix this !!!
