my ipod wont synce because my computer cant identify my apps

I am trying to sync my ipod touch, 4th gen, but the process seems to fail along step two due to the terms: "ipod can not sync apps because itunes can not identify the apps on 'so said ipod'." Its really annoying, because I could care less about my apps and just want to update my music library. I've updated my itunes, and my ipod's software is all updated. I resetted my computer. I'm just now having trouble syncing. Does anyone know what to do at this point? I just want more music! Ughhh >x<
