.mov import into Aperture results in duplicate video with same name from previous date. Help?

I have a Panasonic Lumix camera that takes .mov videos. When I import the videos into Aperture, a previous video with the same name (ie clip#2) shows up where the new video should be as determined by date. Essentially when it imports the video it is pulling the file with the same name from an earlier import. In import mode I can see the correct video so this is happening during the import. I have imported the video into iTunes, changed the name, then reimported it into APerture but it should not be this difficult. I also take video with a Nikon SLR and do not have the same problem.

Aperture 3, iOS 6
