I installed the new Motion update and tried to use the dual screen view but the program crashed. Now it crashes every single time I try to open any project. Anybody know how to fix this? I've reinstalled several times and nothing is working.

I too am having this problem... I am the middle of a porject and I need this fixed ASAP!
Some folks have reported success in fixing this by deleting the Layouts folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Motion/.
This did indeed fix my problem! 🙂
Hey Jim! I'm having the same problem, but don't have a Motion folder in ~/Library/Application Support/
Any ideas? I'm running the latest Motion 5.0.5, but still running FCP7.

are you looking in the right Library folder? The one Jim suggests is in your User Folder, not the higher level HD level.

hey, i answered you on the other thread. it still crashes after i use the program, when i close it and then re-open it. I have to re-trash thos Layout files every time. I'm just going to keep it open (in the background), while cutting in FCP7.
I have just had this happen and deleting the layouts folder worked for me.
I've noticed this problem has happened again and it happened when i had final cut pro x open.
I've been fighting this too... Crash right after the splash screen - every time. Deleted, reinstalled, permissioned, etc...
I looked for the "Layouts" folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ only to discover there wasn't one! Copied on from my back-up drive and... viola... problem solved.
Who'd thunk?!?!
