Apple Tech support online chat

I was asking several questions the other day with an apple specialist on chat support about the differences among mac computers and after a while, it seemed, that the person I was asking questions to suddenly cut me off and disconnected me from the server. I've heard that they do this on purpose and get away with it. A customer service representative's job is to answer those questions, no matter how boring they could be and assist less tech savy customers by giving them adequate information. I wonder if apple is aware about what their employees are doing.

So what is it you would like us, your fellow users and the only people who will reply in these forums, to help you with? We have no way of knowing whether what happened was an accident or deliberate. There may well be a time limit set for a given user, not beyond possibility give the thousands of people who contact the Apple Store every day and have to be helped. Or it could have been a technical glitch. We just can't know. Its also possible, since you mention "tech support", that you were trying to get technical help from an Apple Store sales represenative, Apple tech support not having any "chat".

If you looking for presales support, contact them again by chat, call them, or visit an Apple Store and talk to someone in person. If you want technical support on a product you already own, you will have to call the Apple Support phone line. They don't provide support any other way.

Regards.

You have tacked onto a VERY OLD thread = not recommended

If this issue is new, tell us what immediately preceded its onset - add software, upgrade or update? New equipment?

Quoted from  Apple's "How to write a good question"

To help other members answer your question, give as many details as you can.

  • Include your product (device) name and specs such as processor speed, memory, and storage capacity. Please do not include your Serial Number, IMEI, MEID, or other personal information.
  • Provide the version numbers of your operating system and relevant applications, for example "OS X 10.4.11" or "Safari 4.1.3".
  • Describe the problem, and include any details about what seems to cause it.
  • List any troubleshooting steps you've already tried, or temporary fixes you've discovered.
