No LCD in GB 09 and OS Mtn Lion

The LCD in GarageBand '09 is acting weird with OS 10.8.2 (are they compatible?). The application is working

fine otherwise.

Sometimes the LCD is missing - that is, it is not visible. At other times, it is visible but the display doesn't change

when moving to Chord or Project or Time or Measures, or the tempo slider can slide but the number indicating

tempo doesn't change (nor does the audible tempo).

Is GB 09 compatible with OX 10.8.2? If so, what might be causing the LCD to act up.
